這聽起來很有趣,因為求婚是關於溝通和情感的。 在沙上寫下「我愛你」就是溝通。 經歷婚姻的八個好處是反胃的。 我們與求婚進行溝通,因為它們很重要。 我們希望觀眾離開時能夠理解一些事情,並準備好根據這種理解採取行動。
相較之下,許多教師利用他們的課程來反省事實,而不是進行溝通。 當他們以「涵蓋內容」的心態來開設課程時,他們就會這樣做。 這只是滾動訊息並將該訊息扔給觀眾,而不太關心它是否被捕獲。 NPR 片段之所以如此有效,是因為它們是以溝通的心態開發的,這就是為什麼它們成為開發線上課程內容的絕佳模型。

引起他們的注意
一旦你決定將你的教訓融入故事中,你就必須想出一個開頭的鉤子。 大多數學者在開始課程時都會列出將要涵蓋的內容的大綱,但一旦進入課程,沒有人會記住大綱。 更好的方法是說一些引起聽眾注意的事情。
NPR 的節目以劉易斯頓 29 歲女性的故事開始,她和她的老闆、她最好的朋友以及她認識的許多人都接受了子宮切除術。 這篇文章接著問為什麼有這麼多女性接受侵入性手術。 以問題開頭會激發聽眾的好奇心,讓他們對答案感興趣。
此時,大多數學者只會說出答案,但這是一個透過允許學生冒險猜測來吸引學生參與的絕佳機會。 在直播課堂上,教師可以向學生詢問可能的答案。 請注意,這與課堂上提出的大多數問題有何不同,這些問題只是想讓學生重複指定閱讀材料中的內容。 這是一個引發學生思考的問題。
線上教師可以暫停播客或視頻,要求學生提交帶有文字評論的答案。 理想情況下,這將是在該部分中彈出的問題,就像在 艾德拼圖,但教師也可以將學生推薦到論壇來回答。
如果沒有這兩個選擇,NPR 選擇簡單地詢問劉易斯頓婦女的想法。 一名婦女錶示,劉易斯頓大部分是天主教徒,當婦女想要停止生育時,她們選擇子宮切除術,因為天主教會反對節育。 這是一個完全合理的猜測,但事實證明是錯誤的。 另一種猜測是環境中的某些物質導致女性罹患子宮癌,但這也是錯誤的。

隨著聽眾的耳朵現在像徵性地黏在錶盤上,NPR 傳達了一個令人驚訝的事實:原因與女性本身無關。 答案是,那裡的醫生進行子宮切除術的標準比其他地方低得多,並且比其他治療類似患者的醫生更頻繁地推薦手術。
